“Sometimes it’s really early in the morning and I don’t want anyone to talk to me. [laughs] But Jake, because I work with Jake so much… he always makes me laugh. This morning, he- I showed up at 4 in the morning and um, he really broke through. [laughs]”
“I’ll tell them how I survive it. I’ll tell them that on bad mornings, it feels impossible to take pleasure in things because I’m afraid it could be taken away. That’s when I make a list in my head of every act of goodness I’ve seen someone do. It’s like a game. Repetitive. Even a little tedious after more than twenty years. But there are much worse games to play.”
What were your inspirations, especially since [Tauriel] is a completely created character; what brought you to bring that power because there were a lot of ways you could have played that role that would have been along the lines of what we usually see for a girl in an action movie where she’s not in the adventure, she’s the prize…?
"There’s one lady in Oliver’s life, just one. There’s one woman in Oliver’s life this year [is that his sister?] No! it’s Felicity […] the ship has sailed on those romances, I don’t think we’ll ever see Oliver and Sara or Oliver and Laurel together again. They will be together but not together, together. They will be teammates. We discover in the pilot the way that Oliver feels about Felicity so, because of that if we just introduce random love interests, it would kind of undersell what we do in the premiere." [x]
